Teacher's Pet
Description:
Teacher's Pet is an American animated series about a boy named Leonard Helperman whose talking dog, Spot, disguises himself as a human boy named Scott Leadready II to attend school with him. The show, created by Gary Baseman, aired on ABC in the early 2000s and follows the comedic adventures as Spot becomes a popular student, and Leonard tries to keep his dog's secret while dealing with his mother, who is also his fourth-grade teacher.
Premise: Leonard is embarrassed by his mother being his teacher and his dog, Spot, longs for a human education. Spot secretly dresses up as a boy named Scott and enrolls in Leonard's class, quickly becoming the teacher's favorite student (the "teacher's pet").
Conflict: The main conflict arises from keeping Spot's true identity a secret from everyone except Leonard and the Helpermans' other pets, Pretty Boy and Mr. Jolly, as Spot could be taken away to a lab.
Characters: The main characters include Leonard Helperman, his dog Spot/human Scott Leadready II, and his mother Mary Lou Helperman, who is the teacher. Other recurring characters include Principal Strickler and the other pets, Pretty Boy and Mr. Jolly.
