Description:  Spiral Zone is a 1987 animated science-fiction series about an international team of soldiers called the Zone Riders who fight to free the world from a mad scientist, Dr. James Bent (aka Overlord). Overlord creates a "Spiral Zone" of mind-controlling mist across half of the Earth by dropping generators from a space shuttle, turning people into his mindless "Zoners". The Zone Riders, wearing special suits, battle Overlord and his henchmen, the Black Widows, to destroy the generators and rescue people from the zone.

Villain: Dr. James Bent, also known as Overlord, a rogue military scientist.

The Spiral Zone: A dangerous, misty region created by Overlord's generators that enslaves people and turns them into "Zoners".

Heroes: The Zone Riders, an international military team who use special neutron-powered suits to enter the zone and fight Overlord.

Goal: To destroy the zone generators and free humanity from Overlord's control.

Other characters: The Black Widows are Overlord's henchmen who are immune to the zone's effects but are physically altered by it.
