Alvin and the Chipmunks
Description:
Alvin and the Chipmunks is an animated music group and franchise about three chipmunk brothers—Alvin, Simon, and Theodore—and their human father figure and manager, Dave Seville. The series, which has had several animated iterations, follows the mischievous Alvin, the intelligent Simon, and the sensitive Theodore as they navigate childhood and their burgeoning music careers, often getting into trouble that their father must resolve. Later versions introduced their female counterparts, the Chipettes, and updated the setting to modern times.
Alvin Seville: The mischievous, egotistical, yet golden-hearted leader of the group.
Simon Seville: The tall, bespectacled, and intelligent brother who is the most responsible.
Theodore Seville: The youngest, who is sensitive, innocent, and often motivated by food.
Dave Seville: The Chipmunks' father and manager, whose patience is constantly tested, leading him to famously yell, "ALVINNN!!!".
The Chipettes: Female chipmunks who were introduced in the 1983 series, consisting of Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor.
The Franchise: Began with novelty records by Ross Bagdasarian Sr. in 1958, which used sped-up vocals. The first TV series, The Alvin Show, aired in 1961. The most well-known series started in 1983 and was followed by a CGI series, ALVINNN!!! and The Chipmunks, in 2015.
