Description:  Lady Lovely Locks and the Pixietails is a 1987 animated series about an orphan princess who discovers she is the rightful ruler of the Kingdom of Lovely Locks. Aided by magical creatures called Pixietails and her friends, she must protect her kingdom from the evil Duchess Ravenwaves, who seeks to cut her rainbow-streaked hair to gain power. The series, based on a toy line by Mattel and originally created by American Greetings, only produced 20 episodes.

The Plot: An adopted farmer's daughter is revealed to be the missing Princess Lady LovelyLocks when rainbow streaks appear in her hair. She works to restore her kingdom with the help of her friends Maiden Fairhair and Maiden Curlycrown, as well as magical, long-tailed creatures called Pixietails. Their efforts are constantly challenged by Duchess Ravenwaves, who believes she is the rightful heir and wants to cut the princess's hair to steal its power.
