Description:  The Inhumanoids cartoon is a 1986 animated series about a team of scientists called the Earth Corps who battle monstrous subterranean creatures known as the Inhumanoids. The series is notable for its darker, horror-influenced tone, which included gruesome scenes and body horror, setting it apart from other kids' shows at the time. It was produced by Sunbow Entertainment and Marvel Productions, initially as short segments in a larger block before being edited into longer episodes and a movie.

Plot: The story begins when a billionaire named Blackthornne Shore unearths two of the Inhumanoids: Tendril, a vine-like creature, and D'Compose, an undead monster. D'Compose has the ability to turn living creatures into zombie followers. The Inhumanoids aim to destroy the Earth, and the Earth Corps must stop them.

Heroes: The Earth Corps is a group of scientist-heroes who use advanced technology to fight the Inhumanoids. They are aided by the Mutores, a race of elemental beings who have been enemies with the Inhumanoids for centuries.

Monsters: The main antagonists are the Inhumanoids: D'Compose, Metlar, and Tendril. A fourth monster, Sslither, is mentioned as being Metlar's former master, but the full story of their conflict is more complex and was mostly developed for the cartoon.

Tone and style: The series is known for its graphic content, such as people being devoured and transformed into monsters, making it much darker than other cartoons of its era. The humor is often dry and sarcastic rather than slapstick.
