The Smokey Bear Show
Description:
The Smokey Bear Show was an American-Japanese animated series from 1969 to 1970 that featured Smokey Bear teaching fire safety and other conservation lessons to his forest friends in the town of Piney Woods. Each episode included two cartoons about Smokey as an adult and a middle segment, titled "Smokey Bear's Album," that showed Smokey as a cub and explored how he became the U.S. Forest Service's mascot.
Characters: Smokey's friends included Floyd the fox, Benny the rabbit, Bessie the pig, Hiram the snake, Mayor Owl, Freddy Fume the skunk, his cousin Griz, and Gabby the mountain lion.
Plot: The show's plots centered on Smokey reminding his often-careless friends about fire safety, though the episodes also covered other conservation themes.
Structure: Each half-hour episode consisted of three segments: two featuring an adult Smokey and one cartoon of Smokey as a cub.
