Description:  The 1979 "Spider-Woman" cartoon follows Jessica Drew, who gains spider-like powers after being bitten by a radioactive spider in her father's lab and receiving an experimental serum to save her life. Voiced by Joan Van Ark, the series depicts her as an editor for Justice Magazine by day and a crime-fighter by night. Her abilities include superhuman strength, speed, wall-crawling, a clairvoyant spider-sense, and the natural ability to shoot webs from her hands.

Character: Jessica Drew, also known as Spider-Woman.

Origin Story: As a child, she was bitten by a spider in her scientist father's lab. An untested serum developed to save her life gave her powers, though the original comic book origin story was more complex and was altered for the show.

Powers: Superhuman strength, speed, and reflexes. Ability to crawl on walls. Web-shooters that can shoot webbing from her fingertips. A powerful spider-sense that borders on clairvoyance. The ability to mentally communicate with spiders (not from the original comics).
