Description:  Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! is a classic animated series about four teenage friends—Fred, Daphne, Velma, and Shaggy—and their talking Great Dane, Scooby-Doo, who solve mysteries in their van, the Mystery Machine. In each episode, they encounter a supposed ghost or monster, but after investigating, they uncover that the creature is a person in disguise, and the villain is caught. The show is known for its formulaic, kid-friendly mystery-solving, which often involves the gang splitting up and the villains being exposed with the famous line, "...if it weren't for those meddling kids!".

Characters: The main characters are the "Mystery, Inc." gang: Fred Jones: The leader. Daphne Blake: The danger-prone one. Velma Dinkley: The brainy one. Shaggy Rogers: The cowardly, perpetually-hungry best friend of Scooby. Scooby-Doo: A large but timid Great Dane who is often persuaded by his love of "Scooby Snacks".

Plot: Each episode follows a similar structure: The gang's van breaks down near a spooky location, and they find it's being terrorized by a monster. They decide to investigate, splitting up to look for clues. Shaggy and Scooby often run into the monster and have a comical chase scene. They gather clues, which eventually lead them to realize the monster is fake. The gang sets a trap to capture the villain, who is unmasked and revealed to have a human motive, often greed.

Impact: Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! is the original series that spawned a vast franchise of spin-offs, movies, and variations, and its formula became a template for many later versions. It was created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears for Hanna-Barbera Productions and first aired in 1969.
