Description:  The My Favorite Martians cartoon is an animated adaptation of the 1960s live-action sitcom, produced by Filmation in 1973. It follows newspaper reporter Tim O'Hara and his "Uncle" Martin, a Martian who crashed on Earth, as they try to keep Martin's identity and powers a secret. New characters join the duo in the animated version, including Tim's niece Katie, a second Martian named Andromeda, and a Martian dog named Oakie Doakie, while a suspicious Detective Brennan and his son try to uncover the truth.

Series Premise: The cartoon adapts the sitcom's premise, where Tim O'Hara helps the Martian Martin (who pretends to be his "Uncle") hide his identity and fix his spaceship, all while living with his niece Katie.

Added Characters: To appeal to a younger audience, the animated series added new characters: Katie: Tim's niece, who lives with him. Andromeda ("Andy"): A Martian nephew of "Uncle" Martin, who has fewer powers than his uncle. Oakie Doakie: A Martian pet dog.

New Antagonists: The series introduced new characters who serve as antagonists, most notably:

Detective Bill Brennan: A neighbor who is highly suspicious of the Martians and tries to uncover their secret.

Brad: Detective Brennan's son who helps his father investigate.

Key Martian Powers: "Uncle" Martin maintains his powers from the original series, including: Telepathy and mind influence. Levitation. The ability to extend antennae from his head to become invisible. Animal communication.
