Description:  Misterjaw is a 1976 cartoon about a German-accented great white shark who wears a top hat and a vest and his Brooklyn-accented sidekick, Catfish. The two often try to catch the fish Harry Halibut, with Misterjaw delivering his signature "Gotcha!" catchphrase. The series was created by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises in response to the popularity of the movie Jaws and was first shown as part of The Pink Panther Laugh-and-a-Half Hour-and-a-Half Show.

Main Characters:

Misterjaw: A blue great white shark with a German accent and a penchant for startling people with his catchphrase, "Gotcha!". He wears a purple vest, white collar, black bow tie, and black top hat.

Catfish: Misterjaw's green-scaled, bowler-hat-wearing sidekick with a Brooklyn accent. He often calls Misterjaw "Boss" or "Chief".

Harry Halibut: The fish the duo constantly pursues.

Fearless Freddy the Shark Hunter: A shark hunter who occasionally pursues Misterjaw and Catfish.

Inspiration: The series was created as a response to the popularity of the 1975 film Jaws.
