Mission: Magic!
Description:
Mission: Magic! is a 1970s animated series about a magical teacher, Miss Tickle, who takes her students, the "Adventurers' Club," on adventures through a portal on a blackboard. The adventures are initiated when the rock star Rick Springfield (an animated version of the real Rick Springfield) calls for help from his magical world via a gramophone. Miss Tickle's cat statue, Tut-Tut, comes to life to create the chalk-drawn door, and each episode features a song by Rick Springfield.
Premise: Miss Tickle's classroom is a launchpad for magical adventures. She uses a special chant, "Oh Tut-Tut, cat of ancient lore, it's time to draw the magic door!", to bring her cat statue to life.
Portal: Tut-Tut draws a magical door on a blackboard, which serves as a portal to another world.
Call for help: In each episode, Rick Springfield contacts Miss Tickle via a magic gramophone to ask for her help in his world.
Characters: Miss Tickle: A hip, magical teacher. The Adventurers' Club: Six diverse students: Socks, Vinnie, Kim, Carol, Harvey, and Franklin. Tut-Tut: Miss Tickle's ceramic cat that comes to life to help create the portal. Rick Springfield: An animated version of the rock star who calls for help and performs a song in each episode. Ptolemy: Rick's pet owl who accompanies them on the adventures.
