Description:  The King Kong Show was a 1966-1969 American-Japanese animated series where a giant ape, King Kong, befriends the Bond family and helps them fight monsters, robots, and other villains. Produced by Rankin/Bass Productions and Toei Animation, it reimagined Kong as a protector of humanity instead of a destructive force. The show also featured a separate segment, the spy parody "Tom of T.H.U.M.B.", about tiny secret agents.

Premise: After saving young Bobby Bond from a T-Rex on Mondo Island, King Kong befriends the Bond family and their associates, including Captain Englehorn. The group travels the world on adventures, with Kong using his strength to protect them and the world from various threats.

Characters: Kong: A giant, friendly ape who acts as a protector. The Bond Family: Includes Professor Bond and his son Bobby, who becomes Kong's best friend. Dr. Who: The series' main villain, a mad scientist who frequently creates robotic or monstrous threats, including the Mechani-Kong.

Format: The show was produced with animation by Japanese studio Toei Animation and was one of the first Japanese-produced anime series for an American company.

Segment: Each episode featured two Kong segments and one "Tom of T.H.U.M.B." segment, which followed a tiny secret agent named Tom and his assistant Swinging Jack as they fought the evil organization M.A.D. (Maladjusted, Antisocial, and Darn mean).
