Description:  The Hillbilly Bears was a 1965-1967 animated series by Hanna-Barbera about a country bear family, the Ruggs, living in the mountains. The show was a segment on The Atom Ant/Secret Squirrel Show and played on rural stereotypes, focusing on the misadventures of mumbling father Paw Rugg, his level-headed wife Maw, sophisticated daughter Floral, and mischievous son Shag. The series featured the Rugg family in various humorous situations, often involving their lazy "feudin'" with neighbors, the Hoppers.

Family Members: Paw Rugg: The mumbling, gun-toting father who is the stereotypical "hillbilly" patriarch. Maw Rugg: The more sensible and level-headed homemaker of the family. Floral Rugg: A sophisticated Southern belle daughter with lemon-colored fur. Shag Rugg: The youngest son and a bit of a troublemaker.

Premise: The series was inspired by rural sitcoms of the time and took stereotypes of "hillbilly" life to an extreme, with the Rugg family living in the mountains, lazing around, and often getting into slow-moving conflicts with their neighbors, the Hoppers.

Voice Cast: The main cast included Henry Corden as Paw, Jean Vander Pyl as Maw and Floral, and Don Messick as Shag.
