Batfink
Description:
Batfink is a 1960s animated superhero parody series about a bat with steel wings and a sidekick named Karate who fight various villains like Hugo A-Go-Go. The show features a recurring humorous element where Batfink relies on the "thermo-nuclear plutonium-insulated blast shield" of his "Battillac" car to survive absurdly destructive situations, a feature his sidekick Karate often downplays. Batfink's powers include his super-sonic sonar radar and his ability to use his steel wings for protection and cutting, which can only be penetrated by plutonium.
Superhero: Batfink is a bat superhero with steel wings, a parody of both Batman and The Green Hornet.
Sidekick: He is assisted by his clumsy, but strong, sidekick Karate.
Villains: The duo faces a variety of oddball villains, most notably the "world's maddest scientist," Hugo A-Go-Go.
Powers: Batfink's primary powers are his steel wings and a supersonic sonar radar. The sonar is represented visually by bouncing "Beep Beep" words that give him information. His wings are impenetrable except by plutonium and can be used as shields, cutting tools, or to ground electricity.
The Battillac: A pink, modified Volkswagen Beetle-like car with scalloped fins, the "Battillac" is their crime-fighting vehicle. Its defenses, such as the "thermo-nuclear plutonium-insulated blast shield," are a constant source of humor.
Plot: In each short, Batfink and Karate respond to a crime, often with the phrase, "Karate, the Battillac!" The villains are always defeated at the end.
Origin story: Batfink gained his powers after being exposed to plutonium as a child. He lost his natural wings while saving his mother from a cave-in, which led his father, a blacksmith, to create his steel wings.
