Hoppity Hooper
Description:
Hoppity Hooper is a 1960s animated series about a naive frog from Foggy Bog, Wisconsin, who travels with a conniving fox, Waldo P. Wigglesworth, and a dim-witted bugle-playing bear named Fillmore. Waldo tricks Hoppity into thinking he's his nephew and involves them in his schemes to make money, which often lead to funny misadventures and wordplay-filled stories. The show was produced by Jay Ward Productions, the same company behind The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle.
Main characters
Hoppity Hooper: A friendly but simple frog who is the "hero" of the series. He is sometimes tricked by Waldo but is generally helpful and optimistic.
Waldo P. Wigglesworth: A cunning and shrewd fox who is always looking for a get-rich-quick scheme. He is Hoppity's "uncle" and often the mastermind of their misadventures.
Fillmore: A large, friendly, but not very bright bear who is Waldo's "stooge." His signature move is to blow a loud, flat note on his bugle.
Show format: Each story was told in four parts, with one part airing at the beginning and one at the end of each episode, spread over two consecutive broadcasts.
