Description:  Tooter Turtle is a 1960s cartoon series where Tooter, an average turtle, asks his friend Mr. Wizard the Lizard for help to try new professions, such as a cowboy or astronaut. Mr. Wizard magically transports Tooter to the job, but Tooter invariably gets into a disastrous situation, cries for help, and is brought home to be told by the wizard to "Be just what you is, not what you is not".

Episode format: Each episode follows a predictable pattern. Tooter visits Mr. Wizard, who lives in a cardboard box, to ask for another favor. Mr. Wizard uses magic to shrink Tooter so he can enter the box, and then sends him to a new destiny, often in the past. Tooter's new adventure quickly goes wrong, leading to a perilous situation. Tooter calls out for Mr. Wizard, who rescues him using the magic spell, "Drizzle drazzle druzzle drome, time for this one to come home". Mr. Wizard concludes by giving Tooter advice to be himself.
