Description:  The Yogi Bear Show is an American animated television series about a talking bear named Yogi who lives in the fictional Jellystone Park and frequently tries to steal picnic baskets from tourists. Assisted by his best friend, Boo Boo, Yogi uses his cunning to outwit Park Ranger Smith, his rival. The show, which aired from 1961 to 1962, was known for Yogi's catchphrase, "Smarter than the average bear".

Premise: The show centers on Yogi Bear's constant schemes to steal "pic-a-nic" baskets from park visitors. His well-meaning, but often unsuccessful, sidekick Boo Boo tries to talk him out of his plans.

Characters:

Yogi Bear: The main character, voiced by Daws Butler, who is a greedy but clever bear with a penchant for stealing picnic baskets.

Boo Boo Bear: Yogi's small, well-intentioned best friend who acts as Yogi's conscience.

Ranger Smith: The exasperated park ranger who tries to stop Yogi's antics.

Cindy Bear: Yogi's girlfriend, voiced by Julie Bennett, who sometimes appears and disapproves of his behavior.

Creative Inspiration: The character of Yogi Bear was inspired by Art Carney's character Ed Norton from The Honeymooners, with Yogi's voice actor, Daws Butler, imitating Carney's slow and dopey speech pattern.

Show Format: The original show included two other segments: Snagglepuss and Yakky Doodle.
